HTML is a hypertext markup language. It is used for decorating a web page .It is a markup language and does not provide any logic. It can be written in any text editor .There are  two types of HTML tags: container tags and empty tags .

Container tags exist as paired tags in the form of  opening and closing tag while empty tag consists of only the opening tag.
